The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research pays about $1m to students on government scholarships

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has announced the allocation of about $1 million to its scholarship programs to pay unpaid installments for its candidates abroad, according to a statement by the Ministry of Higher Education (MHE).
Mr. Abbas Akrem, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research said that “The financial committee in the Ministry of Higher Education has allocated the payments for the students of the Human Capacity Development Program on the first list in 2018". Akram added the payments will be distributed to 40 students in several countries abroad, allocating $947,827.
The government has allocated $30 million for the HCDP students to be distributed in phases, said Akram, making $19 million in payments so far.
