On 11th of December, 2017, a delegate form the University of Zakho headed by the President of the university, Assistant professor Dr. Lazgin A. Jamil and along with Dr. Lokman A. Abdulkareem, Dean of the College of Engineering, visited Helmholtz Zentrum Rossendurf (HZDR) in Dresden, Germany. HZDR is a well-known research center in Dresden/Germany which contributes to solving grand challenges facing society, science and industry by conducting top-rate research in the fields of Aeronautics, Space and Transport; Earth and Environment; Energy; Health; Matter; and Key Technologies.

The visit lasted for five days during which they have held meetings with the key members of the center. The delegate extended their gratitude and appreciation to center for being supportive and successful in hosting our undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students as well as our staff of the university and providing them with necessary training courses, scholarships for masters and PhD study programs and joint research projects over three years and half. They have also highly appreciated DAAD organization for their continuous financial support and sponsorship in every visit, training course, research project and other scientific activities made in HZDR ever since agreements signed with them.

Moreover, the delegate stressed with them on how to create stronger ties with each other and agreed on further future academic related collaborations in the areas of mutual interest.
