On Thursday the 19th till Monday the 23rd of November 2015 the 19th Gelawej Cultural Festival took place in the city of Sulaimaniyah. The University of Zakho was represented by Mr. Diler Kemal Ahmed, Assistant Researcher at the Information and Communication Center at the University of Zakho, who participated in the festival by presenting a research on literary criticism entitled Methodology in Social Criticism Regarding the Poem Bajar by Mohammed Ali Yaseen. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Diler Kemal Ahmed was able to gain the first price of the Bahdini- dialect- competition for his research. This cultural festival is performed each year during the above mentioned period, where Kurdish literary researches in both, the Sorani- dialect and the Bahdini- dialect are separately awarded. In the presence of a great number of scholars, writers, scientific researchers, culture enthusiasts, and foreign guests the Gelawej Cultural Festival takes place every year.
