On Monday, 6/3/2023, the Coordinator of the Career Development Center in the Faculty of Science of the University of Zakho Mr. Ahmed Loqman Alyousify participated in the symposium entitled "Introduction to Labor Law, Rights, and Social Security" as a representative of the University of Zakho.  It is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in coordination with the International Labor Organization (ILO).

 

The symposium was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Labor and Social Affairs, consultants, presidents of universities, and general directors of both ministries, Dr. Maha Kattaa, Coordinator of ILO in Iraq, and a significant number of experts.  Several speeches were delivered at the opening ceremony of the symposium.

The objective of the symposium: To familiarize workers (private sector) in general and students and academics in particular about labor laws, rights, and ways to protect them. Because most of the youth are unaware of their legitimate rights.

Dr. Aram the minister of higher education, delivered his speech. He thanked the ILO and the Ministry of Labor, as well as the CDC for improving the level of students through the opening of courses, seminars, and other activities.

In the near future, a number of teachers will be trained to develop a curriculum.

Fortunately, according to available data, students from Zakho University and Charmo University are more willing to receive job opportunities compared to others.
