The Department of General Psychology conducted an activity regarding the commemoration of the International Women’s Day at the University of Zakho on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. The activity was held in the presence of Dr. Karwan F. Sami, Vice President of the University of Zakho for Students Affairs, and Dr. Sherzad Z. Mohammed, Dean of the Faculty of Education, along with a number of ladies, political and governmental figures.

The activity consisted of a special panel about ‘The Role of Women in Kurdish Society’ which was presented by Ms. Fatima F. Mohammed, Head of Kurdistan Women Board in Zakho, Ms. Nazdar Arif, Lecturer of the University of Zakho, Ms. Vaman Ahmed, Lecturer of the University of Zakho, and Mr. Shivan O. Saadi. Furthermore, the Viya Team chanted various national anthems. Additionally, certain women who escaped from ISIS participated in the activity and they were rewarded by the Faculty of Education.

Eventually, several female students of the University of Zakho opened an exhibition and prepared Kurdish cuisine which was later presented to the attendees.
