On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, staff of  the University of Zakho Zakho, consisting of Professor Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel-President of the University of Zakho, vice Presidents, deans of colleges and faculties, lecturers and staff of the University, stood five minutes of silence in honor of the Halabja chemical attack which occurred on March 16, 1988.

Today marks 33 years since the Halabja chemical attack by the former regime of Sadam Hussein, which killed 5,000 people and left thousands more injured.
