On June 22, 2023, a delegation from the University of Zakho participated in a meeting of the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED) at Duhok Polytechnic University. The event was organized by the UNIMED Organization and was attended by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with numerous universities affiliated with the organization.

The University of Zakho delegation, consisting of the Vice President for Students Affairs, Dr. Karwan F. Sami, the Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Dler A. Jameel, and the Director of International Relations Affairs, Dr, Nizar I. Ali, presented suggestions, insights, and recommendations concerning several projects aligned with the university's strategic goals and plans. The focus was on enhancing and advancing academic programs through modern and scientific approaches tailored to contemporary needs.
