The Gender Equality Center at the University of Zakho organized a football tournament in collaboration with the Physical Activities Unit on Thursday, November 24, 2022. The activity was conducted in the presence of Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, President of the University of Zakho, Mr. Mushir M. Bashir, Deputy of Zakho, Dr. Sherzad Hameed, General Director of Social Welfare and Development, Dr. Sherzad Z. Mohammed, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Ms. Nazdar Arif, Director of the Gender Equality Center.

This activity aimed at commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. November 25, marks the start of the 16 days of activism in which women and girls around the world call for global action to increase awareness, promote advocacy, and create opportunities for discussion on challenges and solutions.

Noteworthy, four teams participated in the tournament, and ended with the females’ team of Zakho winning the competition title.
