On Monday 17th of April, 2017, at 10:00 am, at the education hall of the University of Zakho, in the presence of the Assist. Prof. Dr. Sherzad Zakirya Mohammed, dean of the faculty of education, the teachers and students of the University of Zakho. The first wrestling tournaments of (free & Romanian) classes under the motto of the "The flag of Kurdistan remains elevated and lofty" was started.
At the beginning, the Taekwondo team of the city of Zakho showed their prepared show to the audience.
It is worth mentioning that, a large number of wrestler team participated in the Tournament from different teams and clubs including:
1- University of Zakho
2 - University of Nawroz
3. A sports institute in Zakho
4- Zakho Sports Club
5. Youth Sports Center in Zakho.
In this tournament, the team of the University of Zakho was able to achieve the first place and won the championship in the Romanian and free wrestling classes.
At the end of the Tournament, the teams that won the first, second, third and fourth positions were honoured by the Dean of the faculty of Education, University of Zakho.
