On Saturday, 18th March, 2017, Mr. Ahmed Fattah Abdurrahman, a Lecturer at the Department of Physics of UOZ, represented the University of Zakho in the 6th International Conference & Workshop on Basic and Applied Sciences (ICOWOBAS 2017), 18th -19th March 2017 in Erbil, Kurdistan Region-Iraq.
It is worth mentioning that more than 500 participants joined the conference from 48 Universities of 11 Countries, and most of the Universities of the Kurdistan Region-Iraq participated. The Conference was organised and sponsored by the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Airlangga (Surabaya, Indonesia), the Faculty of Science of the University of Technology, Malaysia, Ibnu Sina Institute for Fundamental Science Studies of the University of Technology, Malaysia and Salahaddin University-Erbil, Kurdistan Region. More than 250 researchers and speakers from around the world presented their researches, and participants were engaged in panel discussions.
During the conference, Mr. Ahmed has given a 15-minute oral presentation on his scientific research paper and participated in the discussion sessions. The paper entitled “Effect of the Growth Time on the Optical Properties of ZnO Nanorods Grown by Low-Temperature Method for UV Photodetector Applications” which has been accepted in a Journal indexed in SCOPUS.
At the end, the Mr. Ahmed was awarded the certificate of participation.
