On February 4, 2026, under the supervision of the Iraqi University Sports Federation, the Department of Sports and Artistic Activities at the University of Koya launched the Kurdistan Universities Students’ Table Tennis Championship. The event was hosted by the University of Koya and held in the indoor hall of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.

The championship continued for two days and witnessed the participation of ten universities, including the University of Zakho, the University of Sulaymaniyah, Salahaddin University, Akre University, the University of Duhok, the University of Halabja, Cihan University–Duhok, Komar University, and Tishk International University.

It is worth noting that the University of Zakho participated in the championship in both the men’s and women’s categories.
