The President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, along with both Vice Presidents of the University of Zakho and the Director of International Relations Affairs, formally received a delegation from the University of Florida. The delegation consisted of Dr. Bahar Armaghani, Director of Sustainability and the Built Environment (SBE) Program and UF Green Building Learning Collaborative (CBLC), and Dr. Raymond Issa, Director of the Centre for Advanced Construction Information Modelling (CACIM) at the University of Florida, the College of Design, the Department of Construction and Planning.
The meeting discussed a variety of topics, namely: Architecture, Construction Management, Historic Preservation, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, and Sustainability.
Moreover, talks were initiated regarding the mobility of staff and students between the two universities. The delegation paid a visit to the staff and postgraduate students at the University of Zakho to grant them visits to the University of Florida for the purpose of benefiting from its Labs in the aforementioned fields. Furthermore, the delegation visited the Department of Civil and Environment Engineering at the College of Engineering and the Department of Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Science intending to discuss the benefits that can be obtained from the programs of the University of Florida.
