Represented by Mr. Didar A. Ali, lecturer at the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science, the University of Zakho participated at the Combinatorics and Graph Theory Day on the 27th of January 2016, which was organized by the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, University of Malta. Mr. Didar A. Ali, who is currently a Split- Site Ph.D. program student at the University of Malta, was invited to hold an academic speech entitled The Nullity of a Coalescence: A combinatorial Approach during this scientific event. His talk was very well received by the audience and Mr. Ali answered the questions fielded to him with great confidence.
Generally, the Ph.D. studies of this student follow the Split-site program for four years, with the University of Malta being the partner institution. The joint supervisors are Prof. Khidir R. Sharaf, lecturer at the University of Zakho and Prof. Irene Sciriha, lecturer at the University of Malta.
Mr. Ali started his studies in Malta on the 7th of September 2015. The student needs to spend some time at the University of Malta as part of the Ph.D. being undertaken in Zahko. This is a requirement as part of the split site Ph.D. program.
