A Delegate from Lund University Visited the University of Zakho

On Thursday, May 2, 2019, a delegation from the Center for Middle Eastern Studies from Lund University at Sweden visited the University of Zakho. The delegation headed by Helen Avery. Her concern is sustainability transitions research in the Middle East, with a particular focus on strategies for environmentally and socially sustainable society building.
Dr. Helen visited a number of colleges and departments and met with a delegation from the University of Zakho, including by the former Vice President for Administration and Financial Affairs Prof. Dr. Abdulhameed Syliman, Dr. Maher-Dean of the College of Sciences and the Head of Medical Education Development Department at the College of Medicine -Dr. Ahmad H. Ibrahim and Mr. Omar Nuery-Head of Environmental Science at the College of Science. The objectives of the meeting were to discuss certain points in Sustainability Transitions; Post-conflict Development; Systemic Design; Participatory and Future-oriented Methodologies; Capacity-building in Higher Education.
Research interests include but not limited to organizational development, creativity, and transdisciplinarity in higher education, internationalization strategies, as well as participatory and future-oriented methodologies in a variety of settings. This kind of joint projects can strengthen the relations between Lund University and the University of Zakho in different scientific and academic fields. Moreover, it can easily be implemented in our region of Kurdistan, Iraq.
