In its commitment to maintaining high academic standards and ensuring exemplary organisation of the graduation ceremony for its distinguished graduates, the University of Zakho has decided to hold the graduation ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year at the University’s Sports Hall.

This decision has been made in the interest of the university community and to provide greater convenience and accessibility for graduates and their families. Accordingly, the ceremony will be organised over three separate days to enable families and relatives to attend comfortably and participate in the celebrations in a calm and well-organised environment.

The graduation ceremonies will be conducted according to the following schedule:

Graduation Ceremony Schedule Monday, 23 November 2026

• College of Medicine, College of Engineering, and College of Science: 11:00 a.m.

• College of Education (morning and evening sessions) and College of Administration and Economics (morning and evening sessions): 3:00 p.m.

Tuesday, 24 November 2026

• College of Basic Education (morning session): 11:00 a.m.

• College of Basic Education (evening session): 3:00 p.m.

Wednesday, 25 November 2026

• College of Humanities (morning and evening sessions): 11:00 a.m.

• Postgraduate Graduates (Master’s and Ph.D. degrees): 3:00 p.m.

Key Features of This Year’s Graduation Ceremony

The University of Zakho remains committed to the well-being and satisfaction of its graduates. In pursuit of a more organised, distinguished, and memorable graduation experience, the university has introduced the following arrangements:

1. Improved Event Organisation and Greater Convenience for Families

One of the primary objectives of this change is to reduce overcrowding and alleviate space constraints, which in previous years may have caused difficulties for families and relatives in viewing and celebrating their graduates’ achievements.

This year, the revised arrangements are intended to provide graduates with a more organised and comfortable environment in which to welcome their families and participate in the ceremony with greater ease and peace of mind.

2. New Features and Activities During the Ceremony

This year’s graduation ceremony will be conducted in a more distinctive and formal manner. The President of the University and the Deans of the Colleges will present special commemorative mementoes to the graduates in recognition of their academic achievements.

Additional programme elements will also be introduced. In particular, the names of all graduates will be announced individually, ensuring that each graduate is formally acknowledged and welcomed with the respect and distinction their achievement deserves.
