A delegation from the University of Zakho participated in the sixth preparatory meeting for the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Applied Sciences (ICAIEAS2026), as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and scientific collaboration with regional and international institutions.

The conference, jointly organized by the University of Zakho alongside the universities of Akre for Applied Sciences, Duhok Polytechnic, Soran, and Charmo, is regarded as one of the most prominent scientific events in the region.

The preparatory meeting, hosted by Akre University, brought together a high-level delegation from the University of Zakho, including the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Jassim M. Abdo, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Farsat H. Abdulrahman, and the Director General of Scientific Research Centers, Dr. Dindar S. Bari.

Discussions during the meeting focused on organizational and technical preparations, including evaluating readiness stages and identifying logistical requirements. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining rigorous scientific standards for submitted research and ensuring proper evaluation by specialized committees. Furthermore, participants highlighted the importance of strengthening international collaboration to enhance the global academic standing of the conference.
