On Monday, February 19, 2026, on the occasion of the launch of the “National Awareness Campaign on Confronting Narcotic Substances,” organized by the Barzani Charity Foundation, Professor Dr. Diyar Abdulkarim Saeed, President of the University of Zakho, received Dr. Rawisht Rashid, Psychological Counselor at the Barzani Charity Foundation, along with Ms. Kajin, Coordinator of the “National Awareness Campaign on Confronting Narcotic Substances” in Duhok.

During an extended meeting, discussions focused on the implementation of the National Awareness Campaign at the University of Zakho. As part of this initiative, awareness activities will be conducted across all colleges of the University through seminars, workshops, and the distribution of informational brochures and guidance materials. The campaign aims to raise awareness among students and academic staff about prevention strategies and the psychological, physical, and social harms associated with narcotic substances.
