On Sunday, 7 September 2025, the final match of the University of Zakho Staff Futsal Championship was held in the presence of Prof. Dr. Diyar Abdulkarim Saeed, President of the University of Zakho. The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hassan Khammu, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jasim Mohammed Abdo, Vice President for Scientific and Postgraduate Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ramadan Jaafar Mustafa, Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sattar Jabbar Haji, Dean of the College of Education, and Prof. Dr. Diyar Ahmed Bleej, Dean of the College of Science.

The championship was organised by the Sports and Artistic Activities Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the College of Education – University of Zakho, and featured the participation of academic staff and employees from all university colleges.

After two months of competitions and a series of exciting matches, the College of Science and the College of Education teams advanced to the final. The thrilling game concluded with the College of Science team securing victory and being crowned champions of the tournament.
