On March 6, 2023, under the supervision of the President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, and the direct patronage of the Independent Administration of Zakho, the College of Engineering at the university commemorated the Engineering Day through numerous activities.

At the beginning of the event, all the guests were warmly welcomed. This was followed by a speech by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs at the University of Zakho, Dr. Yasin T. Mustafa, in which he asserted the significance of the Engineering Day and the Engineering Department. 

Noteworthy, the activity was supervised by Dr. Mahmoud Ismael, and organized by the lecturers, Ms. Diman Z. Sami, and Mr. Abdulsalam M. Ali. The University of Zakho is the first university in the Kurdistan Region to commemorate Engineering Day attended by private and public sectors, companies such as UB Holding, Luvan, and Shavyar, along with staff, Lecturers, and engineering department students.

Throughout the activity, a seminar was given by the students of the department and followed by various seminars in different expertises that were delivered by the panel quests, Eng. Heja M. Tawfiq, Mr. Dilshad Abdulrahman, Dr. Mahmoud A. Yousif, Dr. Mahmoud Ismael, Mr. Abdulsalam M. Ali, and Ms. Diman Z. Sami.

At the end of the event, certain projects of students were showcased, along with a special artistic exhibition prepared by the VIA private institute.
