University of Zakho Delegation Participates in Seventh Preparatory Meeting for ICAIEAS2026 International Conference

A delegation from the University of Zakho participated in the seventh preparatory meeting of the First International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Applied Sciences (ICAIEAS2026), as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen scientific and academic collaboration with regional and international institutions.

The conference, jointly organized by the University of Zakho, Akre University for Applied Sciences, Duhok Polytechnic University, Soran University, and University of Sharnakh, is regarded as one of the most significant scientific events in the region.

The meeting was hosted by Duhok Polytechnic University under the supervision of Dr. Ari Adel, with the participation of university vice presidents and senior delegations from the partner universities, including the University of Zakho, Akre University for Applied Sciences, and Soran University.

The delegation representing the University of Zakho included the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Farsat H. Abdulrahman and the Director of the ICT and Statistics Center, Dr. Mohammed H. Abdulwahab.

Discussions during the meeting focused on several key areas, including the review of technical and scientific preparations for the conference and the identification of logistical requirements. Participants also emphasized strengthening communication with international universities to encourage the participation of global researchers and discussed mechanisms for evaluating submitted research papers through specialized academic committees.

The University of Zakho reaffirmed its commitment to supporting contemporary scientific research, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence, which is increasingly recognized as a driving force behind advancements in engineering and applied sciences worldwide.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants stressed the importance of coordinating institutional capacities to ensure the success of this major academic event and to provide a platform for presenting innovative research that contributes to scientific and technological development across the region.
