A scientific workshop was held at the College of Education at the University of Zakho with the participation of all Colleges of Education and Basic Education in the universities of the Kurdistan Region.

On Sunday, 30/11/2025, and in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Hussein Ahmed, Head of the Directorate of Supervision and Quality Assurance at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with representatives from the Ministry; Dr. Diyar Abdulkarim Saeed, President of the University of Zakho; the Council of the University of Zakho; and a number of general directors of education and supervisors of basic education, a scientific workshop was conducted under the title:

“Evaluation of the Practical Education Program (Observation and Implementation) in Colleges of Education and Basic Education in the Kurdistan Region.”

At the beginning of the workshop, Dr. Sattar Jabbar Haji, Dean of the College of Education and Supervisor of the workshop, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the Presidency of the University of Zakho, for their support of the event. He also thanked all the participating universities for their cooperation and attendance.

He emphasized that the purpose of this workshop was to prepare a unified guideline regarding (Practical Education – Observation and Implementation) for all these colleges.

A total of 63 participants including deans and specialized lecturers in the field of education took part in the workshop. They were divided into four groups, each assigned a specific task related to the workshop’s theme.

After the group discussions, the recommendations and proposals of the participants were collected. These outcomes will soon be submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Directorate of Supervision and Quality Assurance, with the aim of reviewing and issuing an official guideline for Practical Education in the Colleges of Education and Basic Education across the universities of the Kurdistan Region.
