On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the Career Development Center at Zakho University organized a seminar for Mr. Zerevan and Ayub Ahmed under the title: “Graduate Readiness: Equipping Students for Careers Beyond the Classroom.”
The seminar was presented in the Chemistry Hall for university students and covered several important topics, including:
- Career Success:
This section emphasized that not all graduates automatically possess the necessary skills, but some other skills (such as critical thinking, communication, digital literacy, and professionalism) must be actively developed. Building these skills provides graduates with a strong foundation, helping them succeed when starting and advancing in their careers.
- Self-Assessment:
This part focused on understanding one’s strengths and capabilities, bridging the gap between academic life and the professional world. It included guidance on the job market, practical skills (like CV writing and interviews), and professional development.
- Problem-Solving Skills:
Students learned how to address challenges directly, recognize gaps in their knowledge or abilities, and acquire the necessary competencies for the workplace. This supports lifelong learning and equips them to contribute effectively in professional and economic settings.
- Adaptability:
Graduates were encouraged to develop workplace flexibility and adaptability to market changes. Continuous learning and active skill development enable them to grow professionally and respond effectively to evolving job demands.
