The Career Development Center (CDC), in cooperation with the Lotus Flower Charity, organized an activity to mark the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence in the College of Science at the University of Zakho on November 26, 2023.

In the presence of Dr. Diyar A. Balij, Dean of the College of Science, teachers, academic members, and students of the college, a seminar entitled “The Impact of Climate Change on the Increase of Violence in Society" was delivered by Dr. Mohammed A. Ibrahim, Dean of the College of Science at Duhok University.

With regard to numerous climate change challenges and their relationship to topics concerning gender-based violence, the activities seek to upskill and develop the capacity of women and girls on various climate change issues. Moreover, the Lotus Flower Charity project will provide support for initiatives led by the Earth Sisters that aim at increasing community awareness about these pressing issues.
