A representative of the University of Zakho has been elected to the Executive Board of the Kurdistan Concrete Society (KCS), marking an important milestone that reflects the University's active contribution to advancing concrete science and construction engineering in the Kurdistan Region.

On July 29, 2026, the Founding Board of the Kurdistan Concrete Society (KCS) convened at the Directorate of Construction and Housing in Erbil to conduct the Society's executive board elections. During the meeting, Dr. Farast H. Abdulrahman, representing the University of Zakho, was successfully elected as a member of the Executive Board.

The election process was conducted under the supervision of the Department of Associations in Erbil Governorate and in the presence of a judicial representative, ensuring transparency and compliance with the Society's internal regulations. The establishment of the Kurdistan Concrete Society aims to promote the advancement of concrete science, technology, and professional practice throughout the Kurdistan Region.

In accordance with Articles Seven and Eight of the Society's internal bylaws and the regulations of the Ministry of Interior, the Executive Board consists of seven principal members including President, Vice President, Secretary, Financial Officer, and three additional members, along with two reserve members. Following the voting process, the Executive Board was formed as follows:
