The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Region conducted an official field visit to the University of Zakho to review the institution’s academic, administrative, and financial status and to follow up on the progress of higher education projects.

As part of his ongoing visits to universities and academic institutions across the Kurdistan Region, Dr. Aram M. Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, accompanied by Dr. Dawood S. Atrushi, President of the University of Duhok, and a delegation from the Ministry, visited the University of Zakho.

The delegation was warmly received by Dr. Diyar A. Saeed, President of the University of Zakho, along with the university’s vice presidents and college deans.

During the visit, a press conference was organized for the Minister, attended by various media outlets. Journalists raised a number of important questions concerning the future of higher education and the Ministry’s strategic plans. The Minister provided comprehensive responses based on the Ministry’s policies and vision.

A broad meeting was subsequently held with the University President, vice presidents, and college deans. Detailed reports on the university’s current academic, administrative, and financial conditions were presented. Discussions focused on the institution’s challenges, needs, and potential solutions aimed at enhancing its performance and development.

Speaking during the visit, the Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the University of Zakho, stating that the Ministry would continue to provide full academic and administrative support and work to strengthen educational opportunities for students while advancing the university’s academic mission.
