The University Ranking Committee at the University of Zakho held a meeting this week to review the institution’s remarkable achievement in the Times Higher Education (THE) global ranking for Interdisciplinary Science and to discuss future plans for further advancement.
The committee highlighted the university’s outstanding academic milestone, noting that the University of Zakho has secured first place among all public universities in the Kurdistan Region and second place among universities in Iraq in this prestigious global ranking. This accomplishment reflects the university’s strong commitment to excellence in research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
During the meeting, members analyzed the factors contributing to this success, including the growth in high-quality research outputs, increased international cooperation, and the expansion of interdisciplinary programs. They also emphasized the importance of sustaining these efforts to enhance the university’s global visibility and impact.
Looking ahead, the committee outlined strategic plans to further strengthen the university’s performance in international rankings.
