Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding Between the University of Zakho and Minnesota State University Moorhead

Under the supervision of the President of the University of Zakho, Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, and with the presence of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Jassim M. Abdo, Vice President for Students Affairs, Dr. Ramadhan J. Mstafa, the Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Sattar J. Haji, and the Director of the International Relations Affairs, Dr. Nizar I. Ali, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the University of Zakho and Minnesota State University Moorhead on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The event also featured the participation of the Administrative Council of Minnesota State University Moorhead, including the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Mr. Arrick Jackson, and the Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Mr. Jered Pigeon, in addition to an independent organizer at the city of Moorhead, Ms. Jihan Brifki. Noteworthy, both universities conducted numerous meetings and discussions concerning matters related to the memorandum of understanding prior to this event.

The memorandum of understanding addressed several significant points, namely the exchange of students and faculty members, which aim at the facilitation of educational and training programs, joint scientific research, and various other initiatives. Additionally, it emphasized strengthening academic relations in areas such as education, learning, and scientific development, as well as organizing joint conferences and scientific activities. During the culmination of discussions, both institutions expressed their satisfaction with the signing of this memorandum, hoping it would serve as a foundation for enhancing academic expertise and benefiting from mutual scientific experiences and innovations.
