A delegation from the University of Zakho participated in the TeachersMOD project at Pavia University in Italy. The delegation consisted of the Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Diyar A. Saeed, the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Dr. Othman A. Omer, the Director of International Relations, Dr. Nizar I. Ali, and the Director of the Gender Center, Ms. Nazdar A. Brindar. In addition, the course lasted for five days, from October 30 to November 3, 2023.

The primary objective of the TeachersMOD project is to enhance the quality of academic offerings in the College of Basic Education and focus on various key areas, including modern teaching methods, designing subjects and programs, preparing coursebooks, and developing a versatile skill set.

Ultimately, a seminar was delivered by Dr. Othman A. Omer entitled "Methodology in the Study of the Sources of Islamic History, Kurdish History as an example". It is worth mentioning that in the coming few days other members from the College of Basic Education will participate in two other courses organized by TeachersMOD at the University of Otad in Portugal and the University of Granada in Spain.
