The Gender Equality Center at the University of Zakho in collaboration with the Health Directorate of Zakho Independent Administration celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Month on October 24, 2023.

In the opening remarks, Ms. Nazdar Arif, the Director of the Center, stressed the importance of the seminar designed to promote awareness and prevention of the disease, then the seminar entitled “Causes of Breast Cancer and Its Prevention” was delivered by Dr. Khalida Jamil highlighting the importance of health education to improve awareness of the signs and symptoms, and of the significance of early detection and treatment.
