The University of Zakho participated in a large-scale afforestation campaign as a part of its activities to preserve the environment and to increase the green areas on the university campus.

The campaign was launched under the supervision of the Independent Administration of Zakho City aiming at preserving the environment through planting 5000 trees in Zakho City, including the University of Zakho.
