On Saturday, September 9, 2017, the 5th Duhok International Film Festival took place at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Farhad Amin, the governor of Duhok, local artists, Film producers, international and civil institutes and many mass medias participated in this festival. At the beginning of the festival, the attendees stood a minute of silence for Kurdistan martyrs, then the governor of Duhok, Mr. Farhad Amin, delivered a speech and after that (Zar) film was screened to the audience.

It is worth mentioning that, Mr. Diler Kemal Ahmed, a Research Assistant in the Statistics and ICT centre at the University of Zakho Participated in this festival as the representative of the University and an active critic to evaluate the films screened. Furthermore, the festival will be for 7 days, until Saturday 16/9/2017.
