In 2017 and under the supervision of Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jamil , the president of the University of Zakho, a delegate from the International Relations Office headed by Dr. Ahmad H. Ibrahim visited the Turkish Consulate in Erbil and Turkish Language Department several times. The aim of the visit was to establish the platform for the Turkish Cultural Center in the University of Zakho and this idea was warmly welcomed by the General Consul Mr. Mohamet Akif and Vice Consul Mr. Orhan Unlu. That is why, they sent 200 books in different fields for the first initiative of opening the center and on August 9, 2017, they sent another 40 set of books offially for Turkish education program. The Turkish Cultural Center will open a new door for the staff and students of the University of Zakho to establish relations with the Turkish Universities and educational institutes.
