On 8th of July 2017, a delegation of two representatives of the University of Zakho headed by Dr. Yaseen Taha Mustafa, the Vice President for the Scientific Affairs and Dr. Ahmed H. Ibrahim, the director of International Relations office has participated in the exhibition of Turkish universities in Van Royal Hotel/ Erbil. The aim of this visit was to get more knowledge about the 25 participated universities and invite the interested universities to create stronger ties between our university and theirs in the areas of academic collaborations, such as: joint research projects, trainings, student exchange programs especially students of Kurdish language, workshops, conferences, research grants, … etc. In Meeting with them, the delegation managed to officially invite 6 Turkish universities; Fırat University, Hasan Kalyoncu University, Bingöl University, University of Izmir, Yüzüncü Yıl University and Azerbeycan Medicine University as well as friendly introductions and invitations with other universities. They expressed their willingness to make visits to the University of Zakho for further mutual understandings and relations. Likewise, a number of research and scholarship programs are expected to be announced by these universities where students of the University of Zakho can apply and continue their higher studies of which two are currently running namely: Mevlana Student Exchange Program and TÜBİTAK scholarship. In the same time, on behalf of the University of Zakho, Dr. Yaseen Taha Mustafa and Dr. Ahmad H. Ibrahim have participated in the exhibition of Cypriot universities in Erbil on 8th-9th July 2017. The aim of the exhibition was to introduce their universities and facilitate students admissions. They have met a number of agents of Cypriot universities which provide scholarships and 50% discount for international students. They also invited the universities to come and visit UoZ for more official and international collaborations and agreements.
