The representative of the ministry of higher education announced the opening of the Syriac language department at the college of education in the University of Salahaddin in Erbil.

Moreover, by his speech, Dr. Amanj Saed stated: this department has a significant role regarding peaceful coexistence in our region and also resembles an opportunity to introduce the literary and historical background of this language and therefore the ministry had worked by all the means to pave the way for opening such a department.
