On Monday, the 24th of October, 2016, Assist. Prof. Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jameel, the president of UOZ, along with the vice presidents and the head of the Turkish department, welcomed the president of the international universities’ council, Dr. Orhan Hikmat Uglo. Furthermore, both sides discussed the statues of the universities and the postgraduate studies in the universities of Kurdistan region and the university of Zakho in particular.

On the next day, Dr. Orhan Uglo met the representative of the Turkish council in Erbil. In addition, Dr. Uglo showed the support given by the international universities in Turkey to UOZ and also looked for opportunities of collaboration between the University of Zakho and the Turkish universities aiming to strengthen the scientific and cultural communication.
