On behalf of the University of Zakho, Dr. Lokman Aziz Abdulkareem ,the dean of Collage of Engineering at the University of Zakho, visited three renowned American Universities, namely; the University of Tulsa, Missouri University of Science and Technology, and Tennessee State University from 12th -20th of September, 2016 during which he held meetings with a number of the key members of the universities and introduced UoZ to them. Among them Mustafa Onur, Mcman Professor, Chairman of the Petroleum Engineering, McDougall school of Engineering Petroleum and Professor Shoham Ovadia in the Engineering Department at the University of Tulsa. He also met Dr. Muthanna H. Al-Dahhan who is a professor of chemical engineering and nuclear engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology, and Professor Kirmanj Gundi at Tennessee State University. It aimed to create stronger ties with their universities in the areas of academic related collaborations and engage in different kinds of activities, such as: joint research projects, staff trainings courses, student exchange and fellowship programs, workshops, research grants especially laboratory facilities where both sides expressed their willingness to further their mutual understandings and putting them in practice by visiting UoZ and signing a MoU with each other in the near future for more official agreements.
