The Physics Research Center, General Directorate of Scientific Research Center/University of Zakho is pleased to announce the ongoing success of its collaborative research initiative with the University of Oldenburg, Germany, under the DAAD- program. Now, in its second year, this partnership is driving significant advancements in nanotechnology and biomedical research.
The second annual project of this program started on 01 July and ended on 30 August 2024. It featured participation from key researchers and academics from both institutions. Dr. Diyar Sadiq from the Physics Research Center at the General Directorate of Scientific Research Center/University of Zakho is the primary coordinator for this project. Under his leadership, the project has flourished. Three Zakho researchers participated in research internships at the University of Oldenburg earlier this year—two for two months and two for one month. These internships provided invaluable experience in photonics, synthesis, and fabrication of nanoparticles. Additionally, the participants developed confocal fluorescence microscopy to transfer knowledge to the Physics Research Center at the University of Zakho for research purposes.
This project, funded and facilitated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), aimed to transfer the research-oriented lab course experiences from UoL to UoZ's Master’s study program. The UoZ researchers closely collaborated with UoL researchers, gaining insights into the lab course structure and methodology. Their participation focused on adapting and implementing these research-oriented lab experiences within the UoZ curriculum. Below are images summarizing their work and the outcomes of this collaboration.
