4-Liquid chromatography-Mass spectrometry (LC-MS):-
It's an analytical technique that combines the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography (or HPLC) with the mass analysis capabilities of mass spectrometry (MS). The sample is separated by LC, and the separated sample species are sprayed into atmospheric pressure ion source, where they are converted into ions in the gas phase. The mass analyzer is then used to sort ions according to their mass to charge ratio and detector counts the ions emerging from the mass analyzer and may also amplify the signal generated from each ion. As a result, mass spectrum is created, which is used to determine the elemental or isotopic nature of a sample, the masses of particles and of molecules, and to elucidate the chemical structures of molecules.
Flexar Perkinelmer LC/MS deliver the speed, sensitivity, exact mass information, wide dynamic range, and mass accuracy needed for having complete confidence in results. LC/MS solutions are designed to provide rapid and accurate mass identification and quantification.
Applications of LC/MS:-
Identification and quantification of chemical species in food, biomedical, environmental, pharmaceutical fields. And also it has various applications in Biochemical Screening for Genetic Disorders, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Toxicology, Steroid Hormones, Vitamins and related metabolites.
