On Tuesday 25th of April, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in the presence of the vice presidents of the University, members of the University, the deans of the faculties, the lecturer and students from the University of Zakho and the guests, the presidency of the department of Kurdish Language, University of Zakho organized an annual exhibition of the Kurdish heritage under the slogan " Folklore is the language of existence of our heritage"
At the beginning, the festival was started by a minute of silence for the fallen souls of Kurdistan martyrs. After that Miss Payman Mohammed delivered the speech and welcomed the audience and thanked the organisers of the exhibition, then, in an academic way talked about the folklore and heritage to the Kurdish people.
It is worth mentioning that, the exhibition included a variety of activities, including Kurdish costumes, traditional songs, various Kurdish dibbles, Kurdish food competitions, etc.
At the end of the exhibition, the audience expressed their happiness and thanked the head of the department of the Kurdish language in organising this exhibition which benefited to them and to the new generation to learn the old heritage.
