Aya Sardar Salahaddin is a student at the University of Zakho who was able to obtain fourth position in an international scientific competition held by the UNIMED organization at the University of Granada, Spain, on Thursday, March 16, 2023, with the participation of 29 teams from 50 international universities.

Aya Sardar, a student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering who has high capabilities and competence, participated in the competition with a project entitled “Recycling Food Waste to Biogas and Compost” in which she discussed the possibility of converting food waste into biogas using some processes and in special conditions, thus reducing pollution and environmental damage.

Noteworthy, the student was supervised by Ms. Damen Z. Sami, Lecturer at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Dr. Nizar I. Ali, Director of International Relations Affairs, and Ms. Berivan M. Ahmed, Director of the Career Development Center.
