On Monday, January 23, 2023, the Consul General of Turkey in the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Memet M. Yakut, and his accompanying delegation paid a visit to the University of Zakho. They were sincerely received by Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, President of the University of Zakho.

Throughout a meeting between both parties, several matters were discussed including the official recognition of the University of Zakho by the Turkish side, and the significance of academic mobility, in addition to cooperation between the University of Zakho and Universities in Turkey. Moreover, the meeting stated the necessity to support the Department of Turkish Language at the Faculty of Humanities, and the Turkish consul expressed his readiness to support the department at all levels.

The meeting was followed by a visit to the Department of Turkish Language and the Library of the Faculty of Humanities to closely observe the educational environment at the University of Zakho.
