In the presence of Dr. Nadhim S. Abdulaziz, the President of the University of Zakho, the Zakho Center for Kurdish Studies organized a seminar entitled “The Rule of University in the Development of Society” delivered by Dr. Ibrahim A. Simo on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022.

During the seminar, the focus was on highlighting the important role universities play as leaders in teaching and learning, education, research, and technology. In teaching activities, universities provide professional training for high-level jobs, as well as the education necessary for the development of the personality.

Moreover, universities can help in providing the new knowledge and skills needed to meet the challenges of sustainable development in a community, raising public awareness and providing preconditions for informed decision-making, and responsible behavior. Most effectively, universities are considered to have been regarded as key institutions in processes of social change and development.

Noteworthy, the event was concluded by dedicating a collection of books to the President of the University of Zakho and Dr. Lazgin A. Jamil, the Former Zakho University President by Dr. Ibrahim A. Simo.
