A researcher at the University of Zakho, Ali Hassan Youssef Fattah, out of 100 scholars received an invitation to attend the activities of the international conference held under the auspices of the China Council for Advanced Policy Studies and the Mainland Affairs Council of the Republic of China (Taiwan) on current issues related to development and governance in China.

The conference witnessed the participation of James B. Steinberg, former Deputy Secretary of State of the United States, Randall Shriver, former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Security Affairs for the Indo-Pacific Region in the US government, Chen Ming-tung, Minister of the Council for Mainland Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), in addition to a number of specialists in Chinese affairs from the United States, Canada, Israel, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
