On 6th of May 2015, the Department of Physcal Education at the University of Zakho organized a three- days camping tournament under the motto "The Heroism of the Kurdish Peshmerga Fighters is the Defender of the Successes in Sports". Due to the fact that the Department of Physical Education was newly established this year, it was the first event of this kind held at the University of Zakho. At the first day, the President of the University of Zakho, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jamil, officially opened the event in the presence of a large number of honoured guests.

Moreover, several activities took place at the first day. The students of the Department of Physical Education were divided into several groups, in order to compete against each other in respective contests. At the evening of the first day, the President of the University of Zakho, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jamil, held a seminar for the participants of the event, where he emphasized on the importance of this event. At the morning of the second day, sport activities were exercised following a 10 km marathon competition. Starting from the campus of the University of Zakho and ending at the village of "Harina", the athletes were strongly challenged.

At the evening of the same day, Mr. Sarbast Lazgin, Head of the PDK- Headquarter in Zakho and member of the PDK- Politburo, held a seminar for the participants of this event, where he described the current situation of the Kurdistan Region and the great importance of the visit of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, His Excellency Mr. Masoud Barzani, to the United States of America. At the night of the second day, a party was organized at the campus of the university. On the third and last day of this camping tournament, a closing ceremony took place, where the winners were honoured.
