The President of the University of Zakho, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jamil, held a meeting on the 13th of April 2015 with lecturers and students of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Zakho. At the meeting, the President of the University of Zakho addressed a speech to the participants about the development of the University of Zakho and was focusing on its constantly expansion. Furthermore, the President briefly explained the requirements of the admission procedure and how students, after being accepted at the university, should behave and fulfill the academic requirements by preparing themselves before and after each lecture. He also explained the role of collaboration between the academic staff and students, in order to improve the relationship between students and lecturers. Finally, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jamil made the students aware of the impacts of the terrorist organization ISIL and the current financial and political crisis in the Kurdistan region, due to the boycott of the Iraqi government against the KRG.
