(HZDR) center in Germany has hosted a group consisted of 23 undergraduate students of Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering departments of the University of Zakho supervised by Dr. Lokman A. Abdulkareem, Dr. Hussein J. Zekri and the current Ph.D. student, Shivan A. Mohammed to take part in a training program within the time from 1st December 2019 to 10th December 2019 which has primarily focused on the measurement techniques of multiphase flow in pipes. The entire program and students’ facilitation have been covered by the University of Zakho.

The students have been trained and gained the required experiences about the using of measurement techniques and sensors in the multiphase flow through seminars given by the experts, professors and Ph.D. students of HZDR center. Besides, the students of the University of Zakho visited the laboratories of the institute and other related industrial companies in the region.

It is worth mentioning that lately, the College of Engineering had many similar training courses cooperating with the HZDR center, and it is hoped that such activities will foster mutual research relations with other universities and centers. Additionally, these activities will expand the horizons of students and benefit their studies.
