On the 22nd of April, 2019, two representatives of the University of Zakho participated in a workshop on "English Language Proficiency Indexing Test". The workshop lasted for one day and a great number of universities across the Kurdistan region participated in it. The University of Zakho had two representatives namely: Mr. Ivan Hasan Murad, a lecturer at the English Dept. and Mr. Sinan an IT specialist at the University of Zakho. The workshop started with a speech by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Affairs Dr. Yousif Goran. Then, the participants discussed the possibility of conducting the English Proficiency Test as soon as possible taking into account the final examinations of the students and also the time it takes to get the test labs fully prepared.
The test is offered by "Education First" establishment to assess the English language proficiency of none English speakers. "Education First" is one of the most active international establishments which has paid great attention to English Language Learning for more than 50 years. Through its English language test, it evaluates the level of English of more than 80 countries. Their test is highly reliable and internationally accepted.
