On Sunday, March 5, 2019, at 10:00 am, under the auspices of Assistant Professor Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel-President of the University of Zakho, and in the presence of vices of the president, deans of colleges and faculties, lecturers and students of the university, the official ceremony of opening the first center for gender cases was held at the Faculty of Humanities.
In the beginning, the audience stood a minute of silence in honor of the soul of the martyrs of the Kurdistan region then the ceremony started by a speech delivered by Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel. In his speech, he academically talked about gender topics and the significance of opening such a center at the university. After that, he precisely talked about female gender and the role of women in society.
After that, Ms. Nazdar A. Brindar-Director of Gender and Equality Center delivered a speech. In her speech, she thanked the presidency of the University of Zakho, and its important role in opening the center. Then she talked about the plan, objectives, and activities of the center.
